"My Coy Koi"
My koi are in hiding! Before you spend anytime wondering further, let me provide some context. I am blessed with a wonderful courtyard with a beautiful pond. The sound of the water flowing over the falls brings me true joy. It is both tranquil and energizing. I am now on a journey to add to the pond experience. I have added fish - yes, those shy koi I mentioned earlier. My sons picked them with me - 5 fish of 5 colors...orange, black, blue, white and yellow. With great fanfare, we acclimated them to the pond and I prepared to behold their splendor. Well, like many things in life, high expectations are sometimes the source of disappointment. My beautiful new fish are in hiding. The pond was built with caves - a place for the fish to privately frolic. And yes, as I now understand, a place for them to hide as well. I sought the help of my pond/fish guru (aka Shane) and he assures me that with time and a bit warmer temps, my fish will swim in open waters. So, is there a lesson here...of course! do you have a place to hide when you need it and what will it take for you to come out to play?
